From October 2019 through February 2026, I was the owner and operator of K9 CareCamp, LLC, a professional boarding and training facility offering a wide range of services including boarding, grooming, massage therapy and training courses for Nosework and Obedience. As the current owner of Silver Creek Dog Training, my co-trainer Jerrie Lee Jarvis and I will provide comprehensive training classes in Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Obedience, Nose Work, and Therapy Dog Preparation. We will aldo offer Pet CPR and First Aid, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), and AKC STAR Puppy certification courses as well as Obedience and Nosework training. I am a certified instructor for Pet CPR and First Aid and an approved evaluator for both the AKC Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy programs.
Since selling the boarding business, I have started a career working with Zebra Canine as a school safety officer for Plainwell Community Schools teaming up with my dog, Ginny, to provide firearms detection and comfort and therapy to students.
My facility is also home to Newfound Retrievers, where I breed,
raise, and show Labrador Retrievers. My personal dogs are actively in Animal-Assisted Interventions and Pet Therapy work both professionally and on a volunteer basis. We also compete in various canine sports and working disciplines, including Detection, Retrieving, and Obedience.
Last year I personally trained and certified my dog, Abby, in explosives detection
through the National Association of Professional Canine Handlers (NAPCH) and trained a 2nd dog, Ginny, in explosives and firearm detection.

I have been training and showing dogs since I was a teenager. I earned my first obedience title in 1978 with a Cocker Spaniel. I have owned and trained dogs of all sizes, from 4 pounds up to 95 pounds. Obedience is my first love, but I have competed in Agility, Nose work, Barn Hunt, Rally Obedience, and Lure coursing. I currently live with a Chinese Crested and a Pitbull, both have competed in Obedience, Rally and Nose work.
I worked as a veterinary assistant for 36 years, and have experienced just about any dog behavior you can imagine. The good the bad and the ugly.
